THE SURVIVOR OF A CHRISTMAS DAY SHOOTING THREE YEARS AGO IS FINDING HIMSELF ON THE WRONG SIDE OF THE LAW. 20 YEAR OLD BRUNO PETROVIC IS CHARGED WITH SIMPLE POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA, UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF A WEAPON AND POSSESSION OF STOLEN PROPERTY. PETROVIC WAS A PASSENGER IN A VEHICLE DRIVEN BY 19 YEAR OLD RANDY OVERBEY THAT WAS STOPPED FOR HAVING NO WORKING TAIL LIGHTS BY MOUNT CARMEL POLICE. THEY SEARCHED PETROVIC AND THE VEHICLE AND FOUND A SMALL BAG OF MARIJUANA ON HIS PERSON AND A GUN INSIDE THE CAR. HE ALLEGEDLY ADMITTED TO HAVING THE GUN AND CLAIMED IT MADE HIM FEEL MORE SECURE. HE SAID HE HAD NO INTENTION OF USING IT. HE’LL APPEAR IN HAWKINS COUNTY GENERAL SESSIONS COURT LATER THIS WEEK.
