An Online Petition Is Being Circulated At Change.Org To Relocate A Confederate Statue In Downtown Lebanon, Virginia. Shawn Lawson, A Spokesman For The Group Behind The Petition, Said The Intention Is Not To Have The Statue Torn Down, But Instead Move It And Preserve It In Another Location That Makes The Town More Friendly To Visitors. The Figure Honors The Confederate Soldiers Of Russell County And Has Been Around For 106 Years. According To The Petition, It Would Likely Be Moved To A Nearby Confederate Graveyard.
