A Bill To Increase Penalties Against Parents Or Guardians Who Fail To Report A Missing Child To Law Enforcement Or Appropriate Agencies Has Advanced In The Tennessee House Criminal Justice Subcommittee. House Bill 1309, Also Known As Evelyn’s Law, In Honor Of Toddler Evelyn Boswell Who Was Found Dead Earlier This Year, Would Require A Report Within 48 Hours Of A Child’s Disappearance, Failure To Do So Would Be Considered A Class A Misdemeanor. The Bill Will Now Head To The Full House Judiciary Committee On June 2nd.
