Several Area Housing Authorities In The Tri-Cities Area Are Receiving A Financial Boost From The Coronavirus Aid, Relief And Economic Security Or Cares Act To Support The Housing Choice Voucher Program. A Total Of 347-Thousand Dollars Will Be Split Between Agencies In Kingsport, Johnson City, Morristown, Elizabethton, And Bristol. Nationwide, Just Over 1-Billion Dollars Was Set Aside For Tenant-Based Rental Aid.
The local grants included:
- $173,616 to Kingsport Housing and Redevelopment Authority
- $75,082 to Johnson City Housing Authority;
- $47,752 to Morristown Housing Authority;
- $27,160 to Elizabethton Housing and Development Agency; and
- $23,404 to Bristol Housing.
