Kingsport Leaders Are Expected To Decide Later This Year On Moving The May Municipal Elections To Coincide With National Elections In August Or November. The Move Would Save The City Money And Is Expected To Increase Voter Turnout. Bristol And Johnson City Have Already Moved Their Dates And Bluff City Is Planning On A Similar Change. Kingsport BMA Members Still Have Concerns Such As A Lengthy Ballot, Voter Confusion & Fatigue As Well As Partisan Versus Non-Partisan Races. If The BMA Agrees To The Change, It Would Require Two Readings.
