In An Effort To Save Jobs, The Bristol Virginia School Board Has Slashed Funding In The Upcoming 2020-21 Fiscal Year Operating Budget. The School System Is Expected To Have A One-Million Dollar Reduction In Funding For Its 30-Million Dollar Budget Reduced At The State And Local Levels. One Million Dollars In Cares Act Funding Is On It’S Way To The School Division, But That Money Has Restrictions On How It Can Be Spent. Cuts Also Include A 1-Percent Pay Increase For All Staff, A 50-Cent Increase For All Hourly Employees, A New Bus And Several Other Items. The School Board Is Set To Meet Again June 8Th.
