A World-Class Mountain Bike Park Is Coming To The Town Of Erwin. Erwin’S Board Of Mayor And Aldermen Has Approved A $1-A-Year Lease For 115 Acres Of Mountain Land Owned By Erwin Utilities. The Biking And Hiking Park Plans Were Developed With A Planning Grant From The International Mountain Bike Association. Construction Is Expected To Cost Just Under 2-Million Dollars. It Will Offer 10-Miles Of Trails With About 700 Feet Of Elevation Change And A Great View Of Downtown Erwin And The Neighboring Unaka Mountain And Martin Creek Areas. There’S No Timeline For When The Park Will Open.
