The Sullivan County Sheriff’S Office Is Warning Area Residents Of Several Phone Scams. In The First Scam, The Caller Will Claim To Be An Employee Of The Sheriff’S Office And Will Try To Convince The Caller To Pay Money To Settle An Arrest Warrant For Missing Jury Duty Or Go To Jail. The Second Scam Involves The Scammer Telling The Caller A Family Member Is In Jail And The Caller Is Asked To Send Money For Bond. Scammers May Also Impersonate The Irs In The Wake Of The Covid-19 Economic Impact Payments Over The Next Few Weeks. Authorities Say Do Not Give Out Any Information.
