Bristol Virginia Is Running Out Of Funding For The City Jail. In Fiscal 2019-20, The City Spent 728-Thousand Dollars Housing Inmates At Facilities Beyond The Overcrowded City Jail While There’S Still Nearly Half A Fiscal Year Left. The City’S 50 Year-Old-Jail Is State-Certified To Hold 67 Inmates, But It Can Sleep 134 With Bunk Beds.  City Manager Randy Eads Said A Review Is Underway Within The City To Determine Where Extra Funds Could Come From. He Doesn’t Anticipate Using Reserve Funds To Cover The Costs. The Topic Is Expected To Be Discussed At Next Month’s Meeting.
