The Findings Into An Investigation Of The John R Hay House In Kingsport By The Tennessee Comptroller’s Office Have Been Released. The Report Found The Directors Son In Law A Convicted Felon Was Employed, With Incomplete Background Check Records That Did Not Include His Criminal History. The Comptroller Also Calculated The Son In Law Received Questionable Compensation For Vacation And Excused Leave Of Over Seven Thousand Dollars. It Was Also Found A Registered Sex Offender Was Employed By The House As A Cook Between August And October Of 2018. Deficiencies In Internal Control And Compliance Were Cited By The Comptroller’s Office. Before Closing Last Year The John R Hay House Served As A Community Corrections Facility For More Than 30 Years.
