Seven Southwest Virginia Towns Have Passed Resolutions Pushing For State Leaders To Renew Funding To Assist Abandoned Mine Cleanup. Those Localities Include Pound, St. Paul, Norton, Big Stone Gap, Dungannon, Haysi, And Appalachia. The Push Is For Congressional Delegation To Renew The Abandon Mine Lands Fund, Which Has Already Reclaimed Nearly 800-Thousand Acres Of Damaged Property And Paid Over 5-Billion Toward Projects Nationwide.
