The Sullivan County Jail Has Been Recertified By The Tennessee Correctional Institute’S Board Of Controls. The Sheriff’S Office Said The Board Recognized The Overall Progress The County Has Made With A Solution To Overcrowding. The County Recently Launched A Pre-Trial Release Program To Move Nonviolent Inmates From The Jail To Their Homes. The Jail Was Built For 619 Inmates And Has Seen Over A Thousand Inmates In Recent Times.
