East Tennessee State University President Dr. Brian Noland Is Asking The Governor For Money To Boost Pediatric Services Through Partnerships Between The University’s Quillen College Of Medicine And Ballad Health. There Is Only One Pediatric Surgeon Serving The Entire Region Which Includes Northeast Tennessee, Southwest Virginia And Parts Of Kentucky And North Carolina. Noland Seeks Nearly 1.1 Million Dollars In Recurring Funds. The Institution Is Also Requesting 600-Thousand To Recruit 15 Pediatric Specialists To The Region.
