WATER IS BEING BROUGHT INTO GREENE COUNTY TO HELP OUT DROUGHT CONDITIONS. OVER 41-THOUSAND GALLONS WERE DISTRIBUTED TO AREA FARMERS OVER THE WEEKEND FOR CATTLE THAT HAVE BEEN SUFFERING FROM THE LACK OF WATER. EMA AND HOMELAND SECURITY DIRECTOR BILL BROWN SAYS DUE TO WELLS AND SPRINGS DRYING UP, BOTTLED WATER WILL BE AVAILABLE STARTING THIS MORNING FOR ANYONE IN NEED OF DRINKING WATER…..

THAT WILL CONTINUE UNTIL THEY RUN OUT. HE SAID A SECONDARY PLAN IS IN PLACE, BUT ISN’T READY TO REVEAL IT JUST YET. MEANWHILE, FIREFIGHTERS WILL BE STATIONED AT NINE LOCATIONS THROUGHOUT THE COUNTY ON WEDNESDAY’S AND SATURDAY’S TO PROVIDE WATER FOR CATTLE UNTIL DROUGHT CONDITIONS IMPROVE. ALSO A SHORTAGE OF HAY IS CAUSING FARMERS PROBLEMS…..
