Abingdon Virginia Zoning Administrator Jason Boswell Has Considered A Request As To Whether A New Courthouse Can Be Built On The Former Kmart Property. Boswell Said In A Letter To The County Administrator Jason Berry, Its Been Determined Placing The Courthouse On The Property Would Not Be Permitted Use In The B-2 General Business District. The Current Courthouse Is 150 Years Old, Is Half The Size Needed, Lacks Parking And Has Security Issues. Voters Will Consider A Referendum On November 5th On Whether To Move It To The Kmart Location.
