A WASHINGTON COUNTY VIRGINIA MAN ACCUSED OF CONFRONTING AN EMPLOYEE AT AN ABINGDON ARTS CENTER HAS BEEN CONVICTED OF SOME OF THE CHARGES AND SOME HAVE BEEN BOUND OVER TO A GRAND JURY. A JUDGE FOUND FARLEIGH SMALL GUILTY OF SIMPLE ASSAULT AND CARRYING A CONCEALED WEAPON. HE WAS ORDERED TO PAY A 250 DOLLAR FINE, ANY JAIL TIME WAS SUSPENDED AND HE HAD TO FORFEIT THE WEAPON. MEANWHILE, CHARGES OF FELONIOUS ASSAULT AND POSSESSION OF A WEAPON ON SCHOOL PROPERTY WERE CERTIFIED TO THE GRAND JURY. SMALL ALLEGEDLY ENTERED WILLIAM KING REGIONAL ARTS CENTER AND CONFRONTED AN EMPLOYEE. HE ALLEGEDLY HAD A GUN UNDER A SHIRT AND WAS DETAINED BY A SECURITY GUARD WHO HAD TO TACKLE SMALL ON HIS WAY OUT THE DOOR. OFFICERS FOUND A 9MM PISTOL IN A HOLSTER UNDER HIS SHIRT. THE GRAND JURY WILL MEET ON JANUARY 22ND.
