OFFICIALS WITH TRI CITIES REGIONAL AIRPORT SAY GRANT MONEY THEY’VE RECEIVED WILL BE PUT TO GOOD USE. ACCORDING TO EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR PATRICK WILSON, A 92-THOUSAND DOLLAR GRANT FROM THE TENNESSEE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION WILL BE USED TO DEMOLISH SOME BUILDINGS THEY HAVE NOT USED IN THE PAST 16 MONTHS. THE MONEY WOULD GO TOWARD TEARING DOWN OLD GARAGES ONCE USED BY THE AIRPORT’S RENTAL CAR COMPANIES. THE 92-THOUSAND DOLLAR GRANT WAS PART OF AN OVER 268-THOUSAND DOLLAR GRANT PACKAGE BENEFITTING FIVE AIRPORTS IN THE STATE.
