Authorities Say A Virginia State Trooper That Was Killed In A Shooting Overnight In Cumberland County Virginia Is From Chilhowie. Lucas Dowell Was Executing A Search Warrant With A Tactical Team Outside Farmville When And Adult Male Began Firing Shots At The Team. The Shooter Was Killed And Trooper Dowell Passed Away A Short Time Later From Injuries He Sustained. Dowell Was A Graduate Of Chilhowie High School.
