The Virginia Assembly Has Taken The First Steps Towards Passing Legislation To Help Fight Elder Abuse, Neglect And Exploitation. Commonwealth Attorney Chuck Slemp Says The Bill Follows The Model They Use To Successfully Prosecute Child Abuse Cases. A Senate Sub Committee Unanimously Approved An Elder Abuse Bill, And The Virginia House Voted Unanimously In Favor Of A Companion Bill. With Such Broad Bipartisan Support These Proposals Are Expected To Move Toward A General Assembly Vote In The Next Few Weeks.
