Hawkins County Educational Leaders Are Considering The Idea Of A New School To Replace McPheeters Bend And Keplar Elementary Schools. Both Of The Existing Rural Schools Are At Least 60 Years Old And Require Repairs. When The Idea Was First Floated In 2015, It Was Determined Closing The Two Schools Would Save The County Just Over 5-Million Dollars Per Year. The Idea Is Expected To Be Discussed In The Future.
