The Search Is On For A New President At Northeast State Community College In Blountville. A 17-Member Search Advisory Committee Will Host Its First Meeting On August 16th At The College’s Campus. It Will Be Chaired By Tennessee Board Of Regent Member Tom Griscom And Will Include Four Regent Members And A Collection Of College Alumni, Staff, Students And Others. A New President Is Expected To Be Hired By January 1st Of Next Year. Former President Janice Gilliam Retired Last Year Amid A Controversial Eight Years At The Post Including A No Confidence Vote By A Majority Of The Faculty Senate Last Year.
