Sullivan County Animal Shelter Manager Brandi Perkey Has Resigned. The Resignation Comes After Weeks Of Complaints About The Shelter. Many Have Criticized The Fact It Doesn’t Spay Or Neuter All Of The Animals Prior To Them Leaving The Shelter. Volunteers Have Also Accused County Officials Of Not Prioritizing Where The Animals Are Housed, For Not Appointing A Board Of Directors Or Appointing A Committee To Oversee Shelter Operations. Volunteers Also Complained The Hours Of 12:30 To 5:30 Pm Are Not Convenient For People Who Work. County Mayor Richard Venable Is Working Toward Trying To Get The Shelter Moved To A Facility Twice As Big. No Word On Who Will Take Over Perkey’s Old Job.
