The Washington County Tennessee Sheriff Office Is Getting Some New Equipment. County Commissioners Have Approved The Purchase Of Dash And Body Cameras For The Entire Department At A Cost Of Over 500-Thousand Dollars. Administrative Services Director Rick Hawkins Said This Will Make Officers Safe In The Line Of Duty. According To The U.S. Department Of Justice, When A Body Camera Was Worn By An Officer, There Was A 60 Percent Reduction In The Number Of Use Of Force Incidents And A Reduction Of 88 Percent In The Number Of Citizen Complaints Against Officers. The Cameras Will Be Installed In The Next Ten Weeks.
