The Bristol Virginia City Council Has Agreed To Pass The 2018-19 Fiscal Year, 69 Million Dollar Budget On First Reading. It Includes A 300-Thousand In Cuts To City Schools And A One Percent Salary Increase For City Employees. The City Is Still Trying To Deal With Being 108 Million In Debt As A Result Of The Falls Retail Development Off Exit 5 Of Interstate 81. A 2.4 Million Dollar Payment Is Due On The Project In Four Years. School Officials Were Not Happy About Seeing Their Budget Cut, But Councilman Kevin Wingate Said He Doesn’t Believe The School Board Is Being Good Stewards Of Tax Payers Money.
