Kingsport Leaders Have Decided Not To Increase Property Taxes For City Residents In The Upcoming Budget. City Leaders Are Now Wrestling With How To Come Up With 644-Thousand Dollars In Operating Funds To Cover A Shortfall Created By A Shift In County Tax Payouts. For Now, It Looks Like City Leaders Are Preliminarily Leaning Towards Cutting Funding To One Kingsport And Special Programs And Putting Some Capital Projects On Hold For A Year. The Board Of Mayor And Alderman Is Set To Vote On The Budget Next Month.
