A TRI CITIES SCHOOL HAS BEEN DESIGNATED A 2007 NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND SCHOOL, MAKING IT A BLUE RIBBON SCHOOL. HOLSTON VIEW ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IN BRISTOL IS ONE OF ONLY FOUR SCHOOLS IN THE STATE OF TENNESSEE TO RECEIVE THIS RECOGNITION. THE NATIONAL AWARD RECOGNIZES SCHOOLS THAT ARE EIGHTER ACADEMICALLY SUPERIOR IN THEIR STATES, OR THAT DEMONSTRATES DRAMATIC GAINS IN STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT. ACCORDING TO BRISTOL SCHOOLS DIRECTOR STEVE DIXON, THIS RECOGNITION ONLY COMPLIMENTS THE HIGH STANDARDS AND OUTSTANDING LEVEL OF ACHIEVEMENT IN PUBLIC EDUCATION IN THE AREA. SCHOOL PRINCIPAL TOM PARKER WILL ATTEND AN AWARDS CEREMONY IN WASHINGTON, D.C. ON NOVEMBER 12 AND 13TH TO RECEIVE AN HONORARY PLAQUE.
