An Initiative By A Northeast Tennessee Legislator Which Would Enhance Training Standards For Constables Has Passed In The House. Currently Constables Who Serve In Approximately 25 Tennessee Counties Must Complete 40 Hours Of In-Service Course Time Within The First 12 Months After Being Elected. Representative Timothy Hill’s Legislation Would Provide Additional Resources And Training Opportunities In An Effort To Better Support Whose Who Are Called Upon To Serve In These Positions.
