Blountville Is Getting A New Look In Hopes Of Bringing More Foot Traffic To The Downtown Area. Sullivan County Mayor Richard Venable Believes Businesses Will Look At Locating In The Small Town. The County Has Been Working For The Past Year To Make The Downtown More Walkable. The County Is Looking At Making A Portion Of Highway 126 A One Way Street For East Bound Traffic Only, Re-Routing West Bound Traffic Onto Nearby Franklin Street Using A Traffic Round-A-Bout. The Total Cost Would Be About A Half-A-Million With Most Of The Money Coming From The State.
