The State Comptroller’s Office Is Coming Down Hard On Washington County Tennessee Following A Government Audit. There Were Eight Findings In The County Mayor And Financial Directors Offices, As Well As Other Departments Throughout The County. One Significant Deficiency Auditors Uncovered Was In The Accounting Of The County’s New Self-Insurance Program Which Showed A Deficit Of 1.1 Million Dollars. The Problems Were Reportedly With The Self -Insurance Fund Traced To Employee Premiums Set Too Low To Fund The Health Costs And Errors In Recording Charges And Costs. Most Of The Problems Have Been Corrected Or, Are Being Corrected At This Time.
