Divers have pulled a handgun from a pond that police say may be the weapon used to kill a Greeneville Tennessee police officer. Greene County Sheriff Steve Burns said divers found the gun in a pond in Hardin Park in Greeneville late Friday afternoon after getting a tip. Burns says it may be the weapon used to shoot and kill 46-year-old Greeneville Police Sgt. Roger Self. Self’s son, 18-year-old Ethan Self, is charged with first degree murder. He pled not guilty Friday morning and is being held in the Greene County Detention Center on a half-a-million dollars bond. A preliminary hearing is set for April 14.
