A Kingsport-Based Chemical Company Has Announced The Opening Of A Manufacturing Plant In Korea In A Joint Venture With Another Chemical Company. The New Plant Is A Partnership Between Eastman Chemical Company And Sk Chemical Company. Eastman Has Controlling Ownership In The Venture And Will Operate The New Acetate Tow Manufacturing Facility. The Opening Of The Plant Will Enable The Companies To Support The Growth For Cellulose Acetate In Asia. Cellulose Acetate Tow Is Used Primarily As A Raw Material In The Manufacture Of Cigarette Filters.
