HIGH SPEED INTERNET IS COMING TO RURAL PARTS OF SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA. A LINK WAS COMPLETED YESTERDAY IN WISE COUNTY THAT WILL BRING HIGH SPEED INTERNET TO THE AREA. THIS COMPLETES THE LATEST SECTION OF A 10.5 MILLION DOLLAR PROJECT, TARGETED AT BRINGING TECHNOLOGY BASED COMPANIES TO RURAL REGIONS AND CREATING LOCAL JOBS. THE SYSTEM SPANS 206 MILES AND IS FUNDED THROUGH A SERIES OF FEDERAL GRANTS AND MONEY FROM THE VIRGINIA TOBACCO COMMISSION.
