Greene County’s unemployment rate rose to 16.6 percent in January. According to figures released by the State Department of Labor and Workforce Development, the jobless rate rose in January in all 95 Tennessee counties. Greene County’s rate is up 1.4 percent from December’s 15.2 percent. One year ago, Greene County’s jobless rate was 15.3 percent. Lincoln County registered the state’s lowest county unemployment rate at 8.3 percent, up from 7.3 in December. Marshall County had the state’s highest unemployment rate at 20.3 percent, up from 18.7 in December.
