ELIZABETHTON AUTHORITIES HAVE ARRESTED TWO CITY RESIDENTS IN CONNECTION WITH THE ALLEGED THEFT OF COPPER ON SOME PROPERTY NEAR THE SUPER WAL-MART ON OVERMOUNTAIN DRIVE. POLICE WERE DISPATCHED TO THE DOE RIVER EXPRESS PROPERTY UPON COMPLAINTS THAT A MAD HAD LOADED ROLLS OF WHAT APPEARED TO BE COPPER WIRING INTO A WHITE, MITSUBISHI ECLIPSE. 29 YEAR OLD CURTIS OAKS AND 26 YEAR OLD HEATHER HATLEY WERE CHARGED WITH BURGLARY AND THEFT OF PROPERTY UNDER 500 DOLLARS. TWO WITNESSES IDENTIFIED OAKS AS THE PERSON CARRYING THE WIRING FROM THE DOE RIVER EXPRESS PROPERTY, AND HATLEY WAS REPORTEDLY DIRING THE VEHICLE. OAKS WAS PREVIOUSLY CHARGED WITH BURGLARY AND THEFT OF PROPERTY AFTER HE WAS ALLEGEDLY CAUGHT STEALING WIRING FROM THE NORTH AMERICAN PROPERTY ON MILITIA COURT IN ELIZABETHTON. OAKS AND HATLEY ARE SET TO APPEAR IN GENERAL SESSIONS COURT ON SEPTEMBER 24TH.
