A JUDGE HAS REJECTED THE PLEA AGREEMENT FOR A KINGSPORT TEACHER ACCUSSED OF EMBEZZLING MONEY FROM HIS SCHOOL. 35 YEAR OLD GREG WHITE IS CHARGED WITH TWO COUNTS OF FORGERY, OBTAINING MONEY BY FRAUD, FORGERY AND UTTERING, AND ONE COUNT OF THEFT OVER FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS. THE CHARGES STEM FROM ALLEGATIONS WHITE EMBEZZLED MONEY FROM THE SCHOOL’S BAND BOOSTERS FUND. IN A PLEA DEAL ATTEMPT, WHITE AGREED TO SERVE FOUR YEARS OF SUPERVISED PROBATION WITH CONSECUTIVE TWO YEAR PRISON TERMS SUSPENDED IN EXCHANGE FOR PLEADING GUILTY TO THE FORGERY AND UTTERING CHARGES IF BRISTOL VIRGINIA JUDGE LARRY KIRKSEY WOULD AGREE TO DISMISS THE REMAINING CHARGE OF OBTAINING MONEY BY FRAUD. THE JUDGE DECLINED THE DEAL. WHITE HAS HIS NEXT COURT DATE SET FOR OCTOBER 12TH.
