The state fire marshal’s office is investigating the burning of a city mobile speed enforcement van in northeast Tennessee. Mount Carmel’s enforcement van caught fire., destroying the vehicle and a barn it was parked next to. Mount Carmel Police Chief Jeff Jackson said the van belongs to vendor RedFlex Inc. Jackson said there was a lot of wiring in the van and it could have caught fire from an electrical problem. Still, any imagesreceived by Arizona-based RedFlex from the van will be reviewed as part of the investigation. The van was put into use in October and monitored roads where speeding was a problem.
