The Greeneville Board Of Mayor And Aldermen Has Decided To Fork Over 20-Thousand Dollars To A Retired Firefighter As Part Of A Legal Settlement Agreement. The Deal Was Related To A Case In Greene County Chancery Court Involving Johnny Kidwell’s Appeal Of The Bma’s Decision To Deny His Request For An Extension Of Sick Leave. Kidwell Had Asked To Take His 23 Months Of Sick Leave Before He Retired Which Was Equivalent To 79-Thousand Dollars. He Was Denied. The City Decided Last Week, It Was In Its Best Interest To Settle The Matter Which Could Have Cost Them Over A Hundred Thousand Dollars.
