A SHOOTOUT AT A MOBILE HOME PARK IN CHILHOWIE VIRGINIA HAS INJURED A POLICE OFFICER AS WELL AS THE SUSPECT. THE INCIDENT OCCURRED AT A TRAILER ON TINY TOWN AVENUE. POLICE CHIEF STEVE PRICE AND OFFICER KEVIN TESTERMAN WERE ANSWERING THE DOMESTIC/SUICIDE CALL WHEN THEY WERE CONFRONTED BY 43 YEAR OLD BILLY JOE PARRIS WHO OPENED FIRE. PARRIS WAS REPORTEDLY STRUCK IN THE LOWER BODY. HE HAS BEEN CHARGED WITH ATTEMPTED CAPITAL MURDER AND USE OF A FIREARM IN THE COMMISSION OF A FELONY. OFFICER TESTERMAN ALSO WAS INJURED IN INCIDENT. THE SMYTH COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT IS INVESTIGATING THE SHOOTING.
