Members Of The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office Will Not Be Allowed To Run For County Commission Seats This Year Because Of The Hatch Act. The Act States That Any Employee Who Directly Or Indirectly Uses Federal Funds Is Prohibited From Running For Public Office In A Partisan Race. Sheriff Wayne Anderson Said While The Law Is Vague, If His Department Is Found In Violation Of The Act, It Could Cost Over 500-Thousand Dollars In Federal Grant Money.
