Several Federal, State And City Office Buildings Are Closed Today In Observance Of Slain Civil Rights Leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’S Birthday. Events Are Being Held Throughout Northeast Tennessee And Southwest Virginia In Rememberance Of Dr. King. Abingdon Virginia Is Holding A Parade In His Honor This Afternoon At One Thirty At The Baptist Church On Main Street. Also, Several Events Will Be Held In Johnson City Tennessee Starting This Morning At The Carver Recreation Center Including An Awards Banquet This Evening At Six O’clock. Also, Several Marches Will Be Held Throughout The Tri Cities. The Public Is Invited To Attend All Of These Events.
