PLANE CRASH UPDATE

A FEW MORE DETAILS ARE BEING RELEASED INTO THAT PLANE CRASH IN CARTER COUNTY OVER THE LABOR DAY WEEKEND THAT CLAIMED THE LIVES OF FIVE JEHOVAH WITNESS MINISTERS. A PRELIMINARY REPORT FROM THE FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION AND NATIONAL TRANSPORTATION SAFETY BOARD HAS REVEALED THE AIRCRAFT’S ENGINE WAS NOT SECURED BEFORE THE FIVE BOARDED THE PLANE IN ELIZABETHTON. A WITNESS TOLD INVESTIGATORS THE PLANE FLEW OVER HIS HOUSE VERY LOW BEFORE HITTING SEVERAL TREES AND THEN STRIKING SLOPING TERRAIN. THE IMPACT CAUSED A FIRE, WHICH CONSUMED THE COCKPIT, CABIN, AND INBOARD SECTIONS OF BOTH WINGS. THE WRECKAGE WAS DISCOVERED NEARLY EIGHT HOURS AFTER THE PLANE TOOKOFF. THE CRASH CLAIMED THE LIVES OF GERALD BOOTH, CRAIG CLARK, VICTOR OSBORNE, LEON ROSKO, AND RANDALL WALP. THE FAA AND NTSB ARE CONTINUING TO INVESTIGATE THE CRASH. IT COULD TAKE SOME TIME BEFORE THE FINAL REPORT IS COMPLETED.
