The Tennessee Highway Patrol says preliminary reports show 10 traffic fatalities in the state during the New Year’s holiday weekend. The THP said in a news release Monday that this was down two from a year earlier. The 10 were in eight crashes. According to Safety Department Spokesman Mike Browning, The THP Conducted Numerous Driver’s License Checkpoints and Troopers Arrested Drivers For Driving Under The Influence And Speeding. The holiday period was from 6 p.m. Thursday to midnight Sunday.
