Virginia’s jobless rate held steady in November, remaining well below the national average. The seasonally unadjusted rate was at 6.4 percent last month. The Virginia Employment Commission initially reported October’s rate at 6.3 percent – the lowest of the year – but revised those figures to 6.4 percent. Virginia’s unemployment rate continued to be substantially below the national rate of 9.4 percent. The state’s unemployment rate has been declining since June, when it peaked at 7.3 percent.
