A CARTER COUNTY SCHOOL BUS ACCIDENT YESTERDAY AFTERNOON HAS INJURED SIX PEOPLE INCLUDING FIVE STUDENTS AND THE BUS DRIVER. AN ELIZABETHTON MAN IS FACING CHARGES AFTER HE REAR-ENDED THE BUS. THE ACCIDENT HAPPENED ON WATAUGA ROAD AT NORTH SECOND AVENUE IN WATAUGA. LARRY SMITH’S VEHICLE STRUCK THE BUS WHICH WAS STOPPED, LETTING CHILDREN OFF. THOSE INJURED IN THE ACCIDENT WERE TRANSPORTED TO AREA HOSPITALS. THEY SUSTAINED ONLY MINOR INJURIES. SMITH WAS CHARGED WITH FAILURE TO USE DUE CARE. THE INVESTIGATION CONTINUES.
