THE DRIVER OF A TRACTOR TRAILER TRUCK THAT CRASHED ON INTERSTATE 81 ON MONDAY AFTER HE APPARENTLY DOZED OFF IS STILL BEHIND BARS. DURING HIS BRIEF NAP, 43 YEAR OLD WILLIAM VERNON TULL OF ARKANSAS CRASHED HIS TRUCK INTO A BRIDGE NEAR EXIT 10, CAUSING THE HEAVILY TRAVELED ROAD NEAR ABINGDON TO BE BLOCKED FOR OVER TEN HOURS. THE ACCIDENT CAUSED THE TRUCK’S FUEL TANK TO EXPLODE. RIG WAS ON ITS WAY TO CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA AND CARRYING A LOAD OF PLASTIC CLOTHES HANGERS. TULL WAS CHARGED WITH RECKLESS DRIVING AND DRIVING WITHOUT A VALID COMMERCIAL DRIVER’S LICENSE. BOND FOR TULL WAS SET AT 2-THOUSAND DOLLARS ON EACH OF THE CHARGES. HE IS SET TO APPEAR IN WASHINGTON COUNTY GENERAL DISTRICT COURT ON JULY 24TH.
