The Cities Of Kingsport And Bristol Are Now Wanting Back Pay From Sullivan County For Liquor-By-The-Drink Taxes. As It Turns Out, The County Has Never Paid Either City For Any Of Its Liquor-By-The-Drink Revenue. County Attorney Dan Street Said He’s Not Got An Exact Figure On What The Cities Would Owe, But Another Attorney Estimates For The Past 30 Years, Kingsport Would Be Owed $100,000 While Bristol Would Be Owed $50,000. You May Recall That A Lawsuit Was Recently Thrown Out That Was Filed By Sullivan County Against Both Cities Trying To Collect 30 Years Of Unpaid Liquor-By-The-Drink Taxes.
