ELIZABETHTON AUTHORITIES SAY A TRI CITIES BANK WAS HELD UP BY AN ARMED ROBBER MONDAY MORNING. SECURITY FEDERAL BANK ON CHARLIE ROBINSON DRIVE WAS ROBBED BY A SUSPECT WHO ENTERED THE BANK, PRESENTED A HANDWRITTEN NOTE DEMANDING MONEY, AND BRANDISHED A HANDGUN. ACCORDING TO SGT. MICHAEL MERRITT, THE SUSPECT IS DESCRIBED AS A WHITE MALE, APPROXIMATELY 5-6 TO 5-9, WEIGHING APPROXIMATELY 300 POUNDS. HE HAS SHORT HAIR WITH A BLACK GOATEE, AND 35-40 YEARS OLD. FOLLOWING THE ROBBERY, THE SUSPECT FLED ON FOOT. OFFICIALS AREN’T RELEASING IF OR HOW MUCH MONEY WAS TAKEN IN THE INCIDENT.
