The Sullivan County Jail Is Continuing To Face Overcrowding And Understaffing Issues. Currently, The Lockup Is Housing About 423 Inmates, Which Is About 40 More Than The Certified Capacity. Jail Committee Member Wally Boyd Said Solving The Problem Will Take Time. The Tennessee Corrections Institute Is Helping The Committee With A Plan Of Action. The Jail Committee Will Submit All Recommendations To The County Commission. In The Meantime, Sullivan County Wayne Anderson Is Suing The County For More Money For His Department. More Officers For The Jail Is One Of His Main Requests.
