Greene County Sheriff Pat Hankins Is Trying To Make Area Schools Safer. He Wants To Add School Resouce Officers At Mosheim Elementary As Well As The Middle School. They Have The Largest Student Population In Greene County. The Sro’s Would Have To Go Through Regular Police Training, Plus 40 Hours Of Ems Instruction. The County Currently Has Four Security Officers, But They Aren’t State Certified. Hankins Is Asking The Town Of Mosheim To Pitch In. It Would Cost About 60-Thousand Dollars For Each Officer, Which Is Something Mayor Thomas Gregg Doesn’t Know If The Town Can Afford. The Issue Has Been Tabled Until September 24th.
