The Sullivan County Commission Is Expected To Decide Today On A Property Tax Rate For The 2015-16 Fiscal Year. Proponents Say The Proposed 27-Cent Property Tax Hike Is Needed In Order To Fund Government Operation, Schools And To Keep The County From Depleting Its General Fund Surplus. Although Opponents Support A Tax Increase, It’s Just Not For That Amount. The County Has To Have A Budget In Place By The End Of The Month. The Meeting Gets Underway This Morning In The Old Courthouse.
